- served as branch director of Ferro East-West Stahlhandels GmbH, a steel trading company, in St Petersburg, Russia, between 1995 and 1996
- engaged in the wind energy industry since 1997
- acted as consultant for Energiekontor AG, the largest German wind farm developer at the time, in acquisition and planning of several wind farms in the region of Brandenburg between 1998 and 2001
- acted as co-managing director and consultant for “win:pro Ingenieurbüro new energy“ between 2001 and 2005
- acted as managing director of Notus energy since 2001
